{"id":88970,"date":"2015-05-29T09:47:29","date_gmt":"2015-05-29T07:47:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=88970"},"modified":"2015-05-29T09:47:29","modified_gmt":"2015-05-29T07:47:29","slug":"new-banner-slams-vodacom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/mobile\/88970\/new-banner-slams-vodacom\/","title":{"rendered":"New banner slams Vodacom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An irate Vodacom customer from Fochville is unhappy with the network\u2019s performance, and has put up three banners in a bid to draw attention to his plight.<\/p>\n<p>The three banners, which follow the widely-publicised erection of an <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/113711-cell-c-the-most-useless-service-provider-in-sa.html\">anti-Cell C billboard<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0by a disgruntled customer, state the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Vodacom \u2013 The co. where staff members do not answer phones or read letters.<\/li>\n<li>Vodacom \u2013 Cannot give signal\/coverage to this part of Fochville (those ads about coverage are probably bull\u2026).<\/li>\n<li>Vodacom \u2013 The co. where the CEO (Mr. MSA Joosub) apparently does not answer letters.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Vodacom said it\u00a0has\u00a0been in contact with the owner of the banners, and has offered to resolve the problem he is experiencing.<\/p>\n<p>Vodacom statement to MyBroadband:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>There are two base stations in Fochville which provide coverage for the area. This customer\u2019s property sits in the radio shadow of a hill, and it doesn\u2019t have a great signal. This affects a very small portion of the town outskirts.<\/p>\n<p>The customer alerted us that in mid-April, his signal deteriorated further. Our engineers have confirmed that there were no changes to the network in the area on or around that date.<\/p>\n<p>We had offered to put a booster at the customer\u2019s house which at the time was not an acceptable solution. We can understand the customer\u2019s frustration, but at this stage there isn\u2019t another short-term solution.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve got a team heading out to his property today to see if we can determine the cause of the signal loss and to again discuss the short-term solution of a booster. First prize is to find a workable medium-term solution at the same time. \u00a0If we cannot provide a signal then we will look at cancelling the contract with no cost to the
