{"id":9126,"date":"2012-04-04T08:23:33","date_gmt":"2012-04-04T06:23:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=9126"},"modified":"2012-04-04T09:54:55","modified_gmt":"2012-04-04T07:54:55","slug":"cosatu-investment-ceo-resigns-avoiding-tolling-interest-conflict","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/trending\/9126\/cosatu-investment-ceo-resigns-avoiding-tolling-interest-conflict\/","title":{"rendered":"Cosatu investment CEO resigns, avoiding tolling interest conflict"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The CEO of <a title=\"Cosatu\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/1652-Cosatu\">Cosatu&#8217;s<\/a> investment arm Kopano Ke Matla has resigned as non-executive chairman of road construction company <a title=\"Raubex\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/1653-Raubex\">Raubex<\/a> to prevent a perceived conflict of interest, it was reported on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Marake Matjila\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/1749-Marake-Matjila\">Marake Matjila<\/a> resigned on Tuesday, Business Day reported.<\/p>\n<p>Raubex said Matjila considered it appropriate to resign to prevent any perceived conflicts of interests given that the company was involved in national roads privatisation projects.<\/p>\n<p>City Press reported on Sunday that Kopano Ke Matla had shares in Raubex, which won a tender to build the R21, which forms part of the <a title=\"GFIP - Gauteng Freeway Improvement Project\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/1748-GFIP-Gauteng-Freeway-Improvement-Project\">Gauteng Freeway Improvement Project<\/a>.
