Telkom has issued an update notice to shareholders, saying its network tie-up talks with MTN are still going on.<\/p>\n
The deal would include bilateral roaming and outsourcing of the operation of Telkom\u00b4s radio access network, which if successfully concluded may have a material effect on the price of Telkom\u2019s securities, the group said in a statement on Thursday, June 25.<\/p>\n
“The parties will update shareholders as soon as they receive the appropriate legal and regulatory approvals,” Telkom said.<\/p>\n
MTN signed an agreement with Telkom in March 2014, which would see it take over financial and operational responsibility for the rollout and operation of Telkom\u2019s radio access network (RAN).<\/p>\n
In April 2014, Telkom said it hoped to conclude the deal within three-to-four months.<\/p>\n
