This is according to <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2015-07-03\/telkom-ceo-maseko-appears-in-court-on-traffic-fraud-allegations\" target=\"_blank\">a report by Bloomberg<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Bloomberg quoted SAPS spokesman Lungelo Dlamini as saying that Maseko appeared in court. Telkom spokesperson Jacqui O\u2019Sullivan confirmed this.<\/p>\n<p>The Star reported on 25 July 2014 that <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/business\/108978-telkom-ceo-sipho-maseko-fake-number-plate-debacle.html\">Maseko was at the centre<\/a><\/strong> of a City of Johannesburg metro police (JMPD) investigation into a car licence cloning scandal.<\/p>\n<p>The newspaper reported that Maseko \u201cstands accused of running up about R30,000 in traffic fines \u2013 to be paid by another driver\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>According to businessman Mabena Motshoane, he spotted his cloned number plates on a black Range Rover, belonging to Maseko.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhatever is happening in terms of allegations about him [Maseko] being on the wrong side of the law is being investigated by the JMPD,\u201d said city spokesman Nthatisi Modingoane.<\/p>\n<p>In July Telkom responded to queries about the issue, saying that it is a matter \u201cthat is personal to Mr Maseko and is in no way related to Telkom\u201d.
