Telkom CEO Sipho Maseko has been accused of \u201cunlawfully driving a car with falsified license plates and deceiving law enforcement agencies\u201d.<\/p>\n
Maseko \u201cdisplayed a different car license plate to the one he was issued from February 2013 to July 2014 and incurred traffic fines of 18,000 rand in someone else\u2019s name\u201d according to a report on Bloomberg.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n This information comes from court document which Bloomberg obtained from the Wynberg Magistrate\u2019s court in Johannesburg.<\/p>\n Maseko appeared in court in Johannesburg on 3 July 2015, and has denied any intention to defraud any person or organisation.<\/p>\n According to the charge sheet of \u201cThe State versus Sipho Maseko\u201d, the Telkom CEO is charged with three things:<\/p>\n In an email to staff<\/strong><\/a>, Maseko said that he previously felt extremely frustrated by the lack of clarity regarding the claims which meant he was unable to resolve them.<\/p>\n \u201cHaving now received full discovery of the allegations being made, I am finally in a position to study the detail and will respond accordingly,\u201d said Maseko.<\/p>\n \u201cThe three charges all relate to the license plate, one of fraud and two others related to the Road Traffic Act,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cI want you to know that I vehemently deny any intention to defraud any person or organisation.
