{"id":93056,"date":"2015-07-13T14:36:10","date_gmt":"2015-07-13T12:36:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=93056"},"modified":"2015-07-13T14:43:58","modified_gmt":"2015-07-13T12:43:58","slug":"new-ceo-for-mtn-south-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/mobile\/93056\/new-ceo-for-mtn-south-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"New CEO for MTN South Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former Microsoft South Africa head, Mteto Nyati has been appointed the new CEO of MTN SA.<\/p>\n<p>Nyati is taking over from exiting lead,\u00a0Ahmad Farroukh, who will be leaving to take up the role of CEO at Saudi telecom operator, Etihad Etisalat Company (Mobily).<\/p>\n<p>Nyati joined MTN as group chief enterprise officer in October 2014, after working at Microsoft South Africa since 2008. At Microsoft, Nyati served as managing director for the South African operations, and also had a short stint as the group&#8217;s GM for the MEA Emerging Regions.<\/p>\n<p>MTN confirmed the appointment saying that Nyati will &#8220;<span lang=\"EN-GB\">greatly enhance our efforts to strengthen the confidence of our customers and reinvigorate our people.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Nyati has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Natal.
