Allied Electronics Corporation (Altron, ATN\/ATNP) advised on Friday that it expects headline earnings per share and diluted adjusted headline earnings per share for the year ended February 2012 to be between 13% to 19% lower than previously.<\/p>\n
In 2011, the group reported revenue of R22.8 billion; earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) was at R2.1 billion and headline earnings per share increased 15% to 228 cents per share.<\/p>\n
Altron declared a dividend of 108 cents per share for the year ended February 2010.<\/p>\n
The group said in a statement on Friday (April 13, 2012) that diluted adjusted headline earnings per share includes an adjustment for the amortisation of intangibles arising from acquisitions as well as various once off non-operational items.<\/p>\n
Altron further advised that basic earnings per share for the year ended \u00a0February 2012 are expected to be between 65% to 75% lower as against the previous corresponding period. \u00a0\u201cThis primarily reflects significant impairments in respect of Altech’s East and West African operations,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n
Altron, through its principal subsidiaries, Altech, Bytes Technology and Power Technologies, is invested in telecommunications, power electronics, multi-media and information technology.
