MyBroadband\u2019s recent qualifications and salary survey reveals\u00a0that Engineering graduates enjoy the highest starting salaries, followed by BEd and BSc graduates.<\/p>\n

The survey was completed 4,638 South Africans, of which 1,787 did a degree at a traditional South African university.<\/p>\n

To rank\u00a0the starting salaries of graduates, we only considered people who started working\u00a0from\u00a02013 onward.<\/p>\n

The different degrees were then grouped together \u2013 like BA, BSc, or Engineering \u2013 and the average starting salary for each group was calculated.<\/p>\n

No distinction was made between the degree levels \u2013 standard degrees, Honours, Master\u2019s, and Doctorate qualifications were grouped together.<\/p>\n

Highest starting salaries<\/h3>\n

Engineering graduates had the highest average starting salary, R19,069 per month, followed by BEd graduates at R15,825, and general BSc graduates at R14,541.<\/p>\n
