The Joburg Metro cop who became an overnight sensation in South Africa, Laurentia Shitlhelana, says that officers are often mistreated.<\/p>\n
A video showing the JMPD officer in a verbal spat with Cliver Naidoo, he allegedly shot through a red light, went viral after Naidoo posted it on his Facebook account.<\/p>\n
Naidoo has since made a public apology for his behaviour towards officer Shitlhelana, who spoke to Independent Online <\/a>about the incident.<\/p>\n On Friday, 28 August, Naidoo was pulled over at the intersection of Bram Fischer Drive and Jan Smuts Avenue.<\/p>\n According to Naidoo, the stop started out cordially enough, before an “abrupt and arrogant female JMPD officer” barged onto the scene.<\/p>\n However, Shitlhelana said that Naidoo had been swearing before the mobile device began recording.<\/p>\n
