A new report by New World Wealth reveals which boutique and luxury hotels in Africa are the most popular among the world’s super-wealthy.
Africa received approximately 43,000 multi-millionaire visitors in the 12 months to September 2015, the group said, with South Africa being the most popular destination on the continent with 11,000 super wealthy visitors.
Multi-millionaires are defined as individuals who have a net worth over US$10 millions.
When it comes to small, boutique hotels on the continent, South Africa dominates overall, with La Petit Dauphine in Franschoek being rated top overall.
Four of the top five hotels are from South Africa, with three in Franschoek and one in the Natal Midlands. The only hotel not from SA in the top five is the North Island hotel in the Seychelles.

When it comes to more typical hotels for the super rich, there is a wider spread across Africa, though still many in South Africa.
The La Mamounia hotel in Morocco is rated as the best hotel in Africa by multi-millionaires, while the 12 Apostles Hotel in Cape Town ranks second (though top in South Africa).
Other top choice luxury hotels are found in Kenya, Egypt and the Seychelles.
