MTN rewards top matriculants with laptops and data

MTN will donate over 100 laptops and data bundles to South Africa’s top matriculants as part of a joint venture with the Department of Education.

10 laptops will be distributed to each of the countries top performing learners in each province while an additional laptops will be donated to special needs pupils across the country.

“MTN is encouraged by the improved matric results and the tenacity shown by the learners, many have studied under challenging circumstances. Awarding these laptops is testament to the meaningful contribution that MTN SA Foundation has made in the last 15 years,” said Kusile Mtunzi-Hairwadzi, General Manager of the MTN Foundation.

“MTN SA Foundation is committed to working in partnership with the Government to support initiatives aimed at enhancing teaching and learning in schools,” said Mtunzi-Hairwadzi.

“MTN SA has a Graduate Internship Programme where students studying mathematics, science, accounting and marketing are provided with internship to get the much needed on-the-job training. Some of these interns have become part of the MTN family”.

“As we celebrate 15 years, we wish to reaffirm our ongoing commitment to ensure that we make a positive difference to the communities we operate in. We will continue to contribute positively to the development of a cadre of learners that will contribute to the growth and development of our economy,” concludes Mtunzi-Hairwadzi.
