Telkom’s consumer mobile arm 8ta, has launched a social & email plan for BlackBerry users for R30 per month.

This BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) offering includes: BlackBerry Messenger (BBM), BlackBerry mail, Internet browsing, social networking, BlackBerry App World, a web-based e-mail account (8tamail, Gmail, or Yahoo! mail).

According to the 8ta press statement announcing the deal, the main difference between it and the full BIS offering is that only one web-based e-mail account is allowed instead of 10.

“We are dedicated to providing our customers’ real value for money and tailor-made offerings. Being first to market also demonstrates the flexibility in our state of the art systems and network,” said 8ta boss Amith Maharaj.

This offer will be available from Sunday 17 June 2012 at 8ta flagships stores and Telkom Direct stores, 8ta said.
