The 10 best-selling sports and supercars in South Africa right now
Naamsa (National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa) has released its updated list of bestselling cars in South Africa for the month of March 2017.
Unsurprisingly the Polo Vivo (2,383 units) and the Toyota Hilux (3,774 units) continued to dominate the sales charts as overall vehicle sales improved 2.1% year on year.
Other mainstays including the Ford Ranger, Nissan NP200, Toyota Corolla and the Ford Fiesta all showed strong months, proving once again that South African motorists have firm favourites.
Slightly more surprising is the continued dominance of the Ford Mustang in the sports and supercar category.
The sector is typically defined by large swings due to the small number of units sold but the Mustang has consistently dominated the bestsellers list, selling 77 units in March – more than three times its next competitor the Porsche Boxster.
The Mustang consistently topping the bestsellers list since its local release in December 2015.
