Gumtree has released the list of finalists for its pre-owned car awards – including the best pre-owned SUV, hatchback, sports, and budget vehicles.

The finalists, which were selected with Gumtree’s data partner TransUnion, are based on an analysis of sales data of pre-owned cars (using the best-selling cars as a starting point), as well as other factors such as the retail price and value retention within chosen categories and age range.

The cars were then put through rigorous road tests to provide a final judging panel (consisting of leading motoring journalists and industry experts) with comprehensive information about the physical performance and appearance of the various vehicles.

The judging panel then used the data compiled to selected the final winners based on criteria unique to the pre-owned market/consumer.
