Warning: pre-paid electricity shutting down in Cape Town
·16 Oct 2013
Users of the pre-paid electricity system in Cape Town should expect a temporary shutdown of the city’s vending system later this week, the city said on Wednesday.
It would perform maintenance on the system from 9pm on October 19 to 5am on October 20.
The shutdown would disable all vending systems and affect online purchases of electricity. Consumers directly supplied by Eskom would not be affected.
Pre-paid users were encouraged to buy all necessary electricity units beforehand to avoid being inconvenienced.
