Load shedding gets better for the week
Eskom has announced that stage 3 load shedding will continue until 16:00 on Thursday, 14 December.
The power utility previously said that load shedding would rotate between stage 3 during the day and stage 4 during the evening but has scrapped the evening hike.
The group said that this was due to an improvement in available generation capacity.
Unplanned outages are currently at 12,889MW, whilst planned maintenance stands at 7,115MW of generation capacity.
An additional 1,000 MW – or one stage of load shedding – is expected to return to service from today until Thursday.
