St Mary’s DSG, Pretoria proudly celebrates the exceptional achievements of the Class of 2024, who have upheld the school’s tradition of academic excellence. 

Achieving a 100% pass rate and 100% bachelor’s degree pass rate, this cohort has demonstrated resilience, determination and hard work, supported by dedicated educators and a nurturing school community.

Excellence in action

The Class of 2024 embodies the school’s motto, Filae Regis – “Daughters of the King” – by living out our values and serving the community at large. 

Guided by St Mary’s DSG’s core values of respect, agility, a growth mindset and generosity of spirit, they leave a legacy of holistic growth, inspiring their peers and raising the bar for future generations.

These young women excelled in academics, sports, cultural activities, leadership and service, showcasing the boundless potential of each student when given the opportunity to believe in herself.

Outstanding academic achievements

This year’s results highlight exceptional individual performances across a variety of subjects. 

Among the standouts, Madeleine Kruger achieved nine distinctions and excelled across a broad spectrum of subjects including Physical Sciences, Life Sciences and Further Studies English. 

Zahra Naidoo also achieved nine distinctions with only 2% shy of Madeleine’s average. 

Similarly, Hadia Emmambux demonstrated incredible academic excellence with nine distinctions.

The diversity of subjects mastered by our matriculants – from the sciences and commerce to languages, arts and technology – reflects the broad opportunities available to St Mary’s DSG girls to pursue their passions and interests. 

For instance, Sophie Loewald, a six-distinction achiever, excelled in both French and Physical Sciences, demonstrating her remarkable versatility.

St Mary’s DSG also takes pride in celebrating the personal achievements of every learner, recognising that each girl’s journey to success is unique. 

These results affirm the school’s commitment to nurturing confident, independent and purpose-driven young women who will make a meaningful impact in the world.

“The Class of 2024 has proven that when young women believe in themselves and are supported by a nurturing environment, they can achieve extraordinary things,” said Head of St Mary’s DSG, Mrs Odelle Howard.

“These results are evidence of the school’s mission to nurture the whole person – mind, body and spirit – equipping our girls not only with academic excellence but also with the values and confidence to excel as leaders and changemakers in an ever-evolving world.”
