OUTsurance expands global footprint with United Rugby Championship match official sponsorship

OUTsurance has announced an expanded partnership with the United Rugby Championship (URC), marking a significant milestone in the company’s international growth strategy.
This move follows the successful launch of OUTsurance Ireland and signals the insurer’s commitment to supporting sport development across both hemispheres.
The URC, widely regarded as one of the most competitive club rugby leagues globally, underwent a major transformation in 2021 when the Pro14 welcomed four South African teams.
The inclusion of these teams elevated the league’s intensity and global appeal.
This cross-hemisphere merger has positioned the URC as a premier global rugby competition bringing together 16 teams from five powerhouses – Ireland, South Africa, Wales, Italy, and Scotland – making it a strategic platform for OUTsurance to extend its long-standing support for match officials.

A decade of backing fair play
Since 2015, OUTsurance has invested in the development of senior South African rugby match officials, sponsoring kits and match official development.
In 2019, the programme expanded to include school and club-level referees, promoting safe and fair play among young athletes.
The company’s commitment to sport development broadened further in 2024 with a partnership with South African Schools Netball (SASN), providing attire for nearly 3,000 accredited umpires.
In early 2025, OUTsurance became the official sponsor of umpire kits for the South African Hockey Association, supporting officials at school, club, and national levels.
