Here is the official petrol price for November
The Department of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has published the official fuel price adjustments that will take effect on Wednesday, 5 November 2025.
October saw oil prices trade in much wider range than pervious months, fluctuating between $58 a barrel and $68 a barrel as geopolitical and trade tensions between the US and China came to the fore.
Despite this upheaval, fuel price recoveries for oil were still positive for most of the month.
The rand, meanwhile, continued to show resilience, sticking to around R17.30/$ for most of the month, though also swinging between R17.06 and R17.58 to the dollar.
Thanks to the general trend of lower oil and a stronger rand, however, fuel recoveries rooted firmly on the over-recovery side of the equation, leading to price cuts for motorists in November.
From Wednesday, petrol users will see prices cut by 51 cents per litre, while diesel drivers will see a smaller but not insignificant cut of 19/21 cents per litre.
The table below outlines the changes:
| Fuel | Change |
| Petrol 93 | decrease of 51 cent per litre |
| Petrol 95 | decrease of 51 cents per litre |
| Diesel 0.05% (wholesale) | decrease of 21 cents per litre |
| Diesel 0.005% (wholesale) | decrease of 19 cents per litre |
| Illuminating Paraffin (Wholesale) | decrease of 1 cent per litre |
| LPGAS | decrease of 61 cents per kg |
The average international product prices for Petrol,Diesel decreased whilst Illuminating Paraffin increased during the period under review.
The Rand appreciated against the US Dollar during the period under review, on average, when compared to the previous period.
The average Rand/US Dollar exchange rate for the period 26 September 2025 to 30 October 2025 was 17.2930 compared to 17.4855 during the previous period.
This led to a lower contribution to the Basic Fuel Prices on petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin by 10.597 c/l, 11.703 c/l, 11.531 c/l respectively.
In line with the provisions of the Self-Adjusting Slate Levy Mechanism, the Slate Levy on petrol and diesel will remain at 0.00 c/l with effect from 05 November 2025.
This is how the price changes will reflect at the pumps (Diesel prices reflect wholesale, pump prices will differ):
