Major new mall coming to South Africa’s capital

 ·22 Mar 2026

A new 32,000 sqm shopping centre, Kings Walk, is coming to East Pretoria, with the surrounding area seeing significant development.

Kings Walk is being developed by the Moolman Group and will be situated at the busy intersection of Solomon Mahlangu Drive (M10) and Bronkhorstspruit Road (R104).

The location is an important gateway into Mamelodi and connects Eastern Tshwane with several surrounding towns and business nodes.

The centre is expected to open in April 2027 and will offer a convenient, modern shopping experience, supported by 1,200 on-grade parking bays.

The Moolman Group said that the location offers excellent access from both commuter and residential routes.

The development is set to benefit from a large residential growth in the immediate area.

A nearby development is the Kings Walk Estate, which launched earlier this week. The lifestyle estate and mall will have a strong relationship, with the latter serving as the local commercial hub.

“Combined with the daily commuter movement from Mamelodi, Kings Walk is positioned to attract a broad and growing consumer base,” said the Moolman Group.

Several high-profile retailers have also been secured for the estate, including Shoprite, Boxer, Pick n Pay, Dis-Chem, and Clicks, which will serve as anchor tenants.

Several other national brands and local favourites will also be present at the mall.

The Pick n Pay will also be operated by an established franchisee with proven performance across multiple stores.

The Moolman Group said that this franchisee will bring a solid operational capability to the centre.

“The site boasts excellent access and traffic flow within the perimeter to ensure a seamless shopping experience with all the conveniences modern shoppers require and easy access to what they need,” said Moolman.

“Kings Walk will bring the crown of retail convenience to the community and its surrounding nodes.”
