Standard Bank to open branches inside Pick n Pay stores in South Africa

Standard Bank has started constructing in-store branches in select Pick n Pay outlets as part of a new partnership between the two companies.
Pick n Pay said that the branches will initially be available in a few stores across the Western Cape and Gauteng
A number of services will be offered at these branches, including, amongst others:
- Assistance with PINs;
- Bank confirmation letters;
- Account activations;
- Debit order disputes; and
- Limits management.
The in-store branch will also provide space for consultations and a more private area behind a slatted screen for in-depth consultations. These branches will be manned by Standard Bank personnel.
Standard Bank has already opened its first in-house 6 square metre branch at Pick n Pay’s Richmond store in the Western Cape.
The move will also allow customers to bank beyond traditional banking hours, and the branches will operate during Pick n Pay’s trading hours.
The banks said that the in-store branches allow it to access a wider range of clients who are able to access banking services where it is more convenient for them.
