EY Sustainability – Punki Modise discusses Absa’s ESG projects

Punki Modise is Absa’s Chief Strategy and Sustainability Officer and previously served as the Interim CEO of Absa Retail and Business Banking.

She joined the Absa Group in 2008 and has since held multiple other senior management roles, too, including Head of Transactional Banking, Chief of Staff for Retail Banking, and CFO of Absa Distribution Channels.

Punki holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Witwatersrand, a Master’s degree in Financial Management from the University of Johannesburg, and is a qualified chartered accountant.
