New Standard Bank app hit by technical glitch

Standard Bank said that the launch on Monday (11 August) of its updated banking app for smartphones was undergoing technical issues, with users unable to login.

“Standard Bank is aware that some customers have experienced difficulty accessing our banking app for smartphones. We apologise for the inconvenience, and we are working on resolving the issue as a matter of urgency,” the bank said in a statement.

The new app was initially expected to be available for iOS and Android devices, with plans underway to release the app on more phone platforms based on customer demand.

“Customers are requested to make use of our online banking services through Internet Banking,” Standard Bank said.

The bank requested customers who have any queries relating to the Standard Bank apps to visit http://app.standardbank.co.za and http://community.standardbank.co.za for further information.
