Retail group TFG has announced its Black Friday 2020 plans including twenty online sites, multiple brands and over 3,000 outlets.
The Foschini Group (TFG), whose brands include clothing store Jet and jeweller Galaxy & Co, said it will offer deals across its brands for several weeks as part of its sale.
“As we continue to adhere to Covid-19 regulations, it is important that we provide customers with choice and flexibility during the Black Friday period,” said TFG chief executive Anthony Thunström.
“We have extended our Black Friday offering with the first TFG brand kicking off on 16 November and our last brand promotion ending 6 December, giving customers 21 days to shop great offers and deals this year.
“Offers vary from three for two, percentage off offers, Buy one get one free, and online exclusive deals.”

TFG said that its brands will honour all lockdown regulations as stipulated by the South African government. Strict adherence to sanitisation, curfews and limited shoppers in stores throughout the Black Friday and Christmas trade will be adhered to.

Mr Price said that its online Black Friday 2020 sale will run between 23 – 27 November and will offer deals on men’s, ladies’ and kids’ fashion items. This will include deals on denim, dresses, shoes, shorts, and shirts, it said.
The group said it will offer in-store deals on Black Friday itself (27 November) to shop for even more deals.
Mr Price said that it will also be offering online-only tech deals on Cyber Monday (3 December) .
Takealot and Superbalist
Online retailer Takealot has said it will extend its annual Blue Dot Sale to the entire month of November.
In the lead-up to the Blue Dot Sale, which kicks off at one-minute past midnight on Black Friday (27 November), Takealot said it will offer three weeks of Blue Dot Countdown deals.
From 2 to 26 November, Takealot.com will release thousands of new deals every week.
“These Blue Dot Countdown deals won’t be beaten on Black Friday and stock is limited, meaning that shoppers need to act fast as well as return each week to take advantage of incredible new deals and savings,” the group said.
Week one and two of deals have ended.
- Week three (16 – 22 November) will see new deals released on camping and outdoor, home improvement and power tools, as well as household essentials.
Takealot said it will also give shoppers exclusive early access to some of its Black Friday deals from 23 – 26 November. Over 200 new deals will be released daily exclusively on the Takealot App, it said.
Online clothing retailer Superbalist said its Black Friday deals will run over six days from 25 – 30 November.
This will include deals on Adidas, Nike, Converse, Fitbit, Timberland, and Missguided, it said.
Online clothing retailer Zando launched its Black Friday sale on 6 November, with deals set to continue until 30 December.
The online retailer said that this will include savings of up to 70% off over 800 top brands like:
“Besides the main event, another day to look out for is Cyber Monday where deals, predominantly online, are said to drop even further,” the group said.
“For zando.co.za, it has become one of the biggest days of the year thanks to the super deals on offer. Black Friday 2020 will fall on 27 November 2020, and the following Monday, 30 November 2020, will be Cyber Monday.”
