Takealot expands on-demand delivery service
Takealot has officially expanded its on-demand delivery service, TakealotNOW, to areas in the greater Cape Town region.
TakealotNOW, available on the Mr D app, is a service from the online retailer which offers a selection of hundreds Takealot products said to be delivered within 60 minutes.
The service is now available in these areas:
- Atlantic Seaboard
- City Bowl
- Woodstock
- Rondebosch
- Kenilworth
- Milnerton
- Ottery
- Woodstock
- Century City
- Foreshore
- Plattekloof
- Richmond Park and
- Other surrounding areas.
The group said the on-demand delivery market is rapidly growing, reflecting changing consumer shopping habits and preferences. As such, it has opted for this service.
“After successfully piloting TakealotNOW in Johannesburg and the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, it’s evident that our customers appreciate the speed of delivery and convenience of TakealotNOW,” said CEO of Takealot Group, Frederik Zietsman.
“In an industry primarily focused on groceries, we’ve pioneered a shift by offering on-demand delivery on a diverse range of products,” said Zietsman.
“From last-minute orders for toys for kids’ birthday parties to quick replacements for broken small appliances, this evolution maintains our reputation for value and convenience, putting the needs of South Africans at the core of our business,” he added.
Alex Wörz, CEO of Mr D, said that “this expansion marks another exciting milestone for us [as] TakealotNOW seamlessly integrates with the Mr D app, offering our customers the same trusted, effortless convenience Mr D is known for now with a greater variety of choice, fast.”
Customers in the designated areas can access TakealotNOW by downloading the Mr D app from the App Store, Google Play Store, or Huawei App Gallery.
After downloading, users should go to the Shops tab, where they will find the TakealotNOW store, enabling them to begin their shopping on-demand experience.
Shoppers who have subscribed to TakealotMORE, Takealot’s new monthly subscription service, can enjoy free deliveries on TakelaotNOW orders on Mr D.
