Jobs in South Africa that don’t need experience or qualifications

 ·15 Jan 2026

There are several jobs in high demand among South African employers, with fierce competition for positions that do not require experience or qualifications.

This is according to Pnet’s latest Job Market Trends Report for December 2025.

The company analysed thousands of job listings across the South African recruitment market in 2025, with the focus being on identifying consistent demand across roles that offer lasting employment.

The analysis highlights fierce competition for jobs with low barriers to entry in terms of experience and qualifications.

The results show high levels of competition and low availability for jobs that require lower levels of experience and education.

This primarily affects roles in Administration, Manufacturing, Logistics, Sales and Finance.

When it comes to skilled workers, Pnet noted that there is still a healthy demand for skills in sectors such as healthcare, finance, and IT.

However, demand for many specialist roles in Engineering, Finance, and IT appear to continue outpacing the availability of skills for the foreseeable future.

“As we step into 2026, many South Africans are looking ahead with cautious optimism, hoping for better opportunities, more stability and roles that offer real growth and reliable income,” says Anja Bates, Head of Data at Pnet.

“Our data highlights where the opportunities lie for graduates and first-time job seekers beginning their careers, as well as for more experienced professionals who may be considering a career shift or a new role.”

What jobs do not need skills or education

Breaking down Pnet’s data, some jobs require only low levels of experience and educational background.

This includes call centre operators and sales representatives/consultants, with the latter still experiencing high demand despite increased competition.

Jobs that require low-level experience of payroll & wages, artisans, sales account managers, product managers, nurses, pharmacists and many more. However, several of these jobs do need high levels of education.

“The data highlights intense competition across many operational and white collar roles, creating pressure for candidates to differentiate themselves even in roles where educational and experience requirements are lower,” said Botes.

“In this crowded job market, recruiters are searching for candidates based on skills, experience, and profile completeness.”

She added that success in the job market in 2026 will not only depend on demand, but also on how effectively candidates position themselves within it.

She said that candidates need a well-maintained job profile with an up-to-date work history, clearly listed skills, and visibility enabled for recruiters.

This will significantly improve a jobseeker’s chances of being seen for relevant roles and their ability to negotiate the best possible offers.
