·6 May 2016
Minister of Transport Dipuo Peters has given motorists a 10-working-days extension to take advantage of the 60% e-toll discount. This is according to a report on Wheels24.
The discount period will now end on 17 May.
The department said there has been a last-minute rush by motorists to take advantage of the discount, which applies to outstanding e-toll debt incurred from 3 December 2013 to 31 August 2015.
“The Minister encourages all those who could not take up the 60% discount to do so in the next few days,” said the report.
Almost 300,000 motorists have taken the 60% discount on their outstanding e-toll bills, according to the Electronic Toll Collection company.
