Pule and Telkom board meet
Minister of Communications, Dina Pule, has on Monday (26 November) met with the board members of Telkom “to listen to their plans and update them about government’s strategic priorities”.
According to a a statement by the DoC, the meeting also served to strengthen the ties between government and the board of Telkom.
Relations between the two had soured in recent months, which many claim ultimately led to the resignation of CEO Nombulelo Moholi, while four additional board members have also stepped down from the group, including former chairman, Lazarus Zim.
“Today’s engagement went very well. I’m confident that the board of Telkom will help the state achieve its developmental goals, while ensuring that Telkom remains commercially sustainable,” Pule said.
Minister Pule’s meeting with Telkom forms part of the regular series of meetings that she holds with the various stakeholders of the Department, the DoC said.
