 ·13 Nov 2016

President Jacob Zuma’s estranged fourth wife, Nompumelelo Ntuli-Zuma, has been given notice by the National Prosecuting Authority that she is a suspect in a conspiracy to murder the president, the Sunday Times reports.

Ntuli-Zuma was kicked out of Nkandla last year after she was implicated in a plot to poison Zuma. She had since been trying to clear her name; however, when her lawyers asked the NPA about the state of the investigation, she received notice that she was suspect.

According to the Sunday Times, Ntuli-Zuma was charged with attempted murder in April 2015, but has not since heard anything else from the investigating team.

The NPA would not confirm any details around the case, saying only that the investigation in ongoing.

Ntuli-Zuma insists she is innocent.
