Home Affairs capture system failure means your holiday could be put on hold

The Department of Home Affairs has published an official apology due to the failure of its Live Capture System.

“The Department of Home Affairs wishes to announce that the Live Capture System at our offices is unavailable due to technical challenges”, the department said.

Services that are affected include Smart ID Card and Passport applications as well as collections. Birth, Marriages and Death services are not affected.

The department confirmed that the matter was being attended to but could not confirm as to when the systems will be back online.
