The crimes South Africa’s ambassadors have been nailed for
Following an investigation by the State Security Agency, the DA has released a list of the crimes committed by eight foreign-based diplomats during their time in office.
The list was furnished to the DA by the ministry of International Relations and Cooperation following an official submission by the DA during a parliamentary question and answer session.
“The parliamentary reply made it clear that when an official has committed a crime, a full vetting investigation must be conducted in order to determine if his/her security clearance must be withdrawn,” said the DA’s Stevens Mokgalapa.
“If it is withdrawn, the official will not be able to be posted again as a security clearance is a requirement for a posting. The vetting process of our foreign representatives has therefore clearly been compromised.”
There has currently been no official decision on the future of the implicated foreign ambassadors.
