Good news for job seekers in South Africa – these 20 jobs are hiring right now

New data from recruitment firm Pnet shows that most job sectors in South Africa are returning to pre-pandemic levels of hiring activity, with job vacancies almost across the board.
The latest Pnet Job Market Trends Report provides insights into recruitment and employment trends in the South African market. According to the company, its report is based on Saongroups online recruitment platforms, which currently hold a combined database of over 8 million registered users.
Pnet said that recruitment activity continued to increase by a seasonally adjusted 4% quarter-on-quarter. In terms of year-on-year change, the number of employment offers increased by 19%.
The job market has experienced a strong recovery since the pandemic and the resulting economic restrictions in 2020, said Pnet.
Since the third quarter of 2020, recruitment activity has grown by 65%. The first 3 quarters have shown solid growth in recruitment activity, with a continued upward trend in hiring, said Pnet.

Pnet said that Gauteng continues to enjoy the lion’s share of hiring activity.
“Over the third quarter of 2022, the province’s job offers comprised 54% of the overall labour demand in the country.”
During the same period, 21% of SA’s recruitment activity was in the Western Cape, while 1 out of 10 job vacancies were based in KwaZulu-Natal, reported Pnet.
