These are the most-watched YouTube videos in South Africa in 2016
YouTube has released its annual “Rewind” – a look back at the most popular videos on its platform in 2016.
This year’s list of most-watched videos in South Africa was topped by The Daily Show, anchored by comedian Trevor Noah.
The segment on South African President Jacob Zuma and the Panama Papers was the most popular among YouTube viewers.
Second was ‘I’ll beat you’ from Nigerian channel Mark Angel Comedy, followed by Rudi Smit’s flash mob dance video – Me Too – which achieved its aim of getting South African talent noticed.
It wasn’t all light entertainment in the top 10 most watched videos – which featured a road rage incident in Durban, as well as an eNCA Checkpoint episode on ‘Blessers’.
