Internet Solutions launches new SME division

 ·1 Jul 2013

Internet Solutions (IS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Dimension Data has launched a new division and portal dedicated to small and medium enterprises (SME) called IS Ignite.

Herman Jansen van Rensburg has been appointed GM of IS Ignite. A channel manager at IS since April 20012, he was previously a GM at MWEB.

IS Ignite promises “click-to-buy” self-service for clients, including ordering upgrading, or downgrading services online. “No call centre, no paperwork,” IS promises on the Ignite website.

News of IS’s new offerings for SMEs emerged a year ago, and the company also showed off a prototype of its ability to upgrade or downgrade ADSL speed on the fly in August 2012.

The products on offer through the IS Ignite self-service portal include:

  • Business DSL (with AlwaysOn hotspot access);
  • Domains;
  • Hosted mail;
  • Web Hosting; and
  • Other services such as bonded ADSL, wireless connectivity as an ADSL alternative in certain areas, and mobile broadband.

IS Ignite has been designed to enhance Internet Solutions’ recently revamped channel partner programme, providing its valued network of partners the opportunity to grow their (and their clients’) businesses through the partner portal, it said.

The offering is for 1Mbps business DSL services from R349 per month, among other things. As with most other ISPs, IS also offers various tiers of uncapped DSL, as well as a capped product.
