Datacentrix given the green light for Infrasol purchase
JSE-listed ICT services company, Datacentrix has been given the Competition Commission’s green light for its purchase of Infrasol, an infrastructure design and deployment business.
The deal will see the company bolster its existing network and communications, datacentre and outsourcing businesses, it said in a statement on (Monday 14 September).
Pinnacle Holdings entered into an agreement with Datacentrix in April, to dispose of Infrasol for a maximum cash consideration of R85 million.
Operational since 2009, Infrasol has amassed a vast in-house skills base that encompasses datacentre designers, electricians, splicers, wireman, general installers, genset mechanics, as well as Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and Prince project management skills.
Datacentrix CEO, Ahmed Mahomed, said: “The procurement of Infrasol allows us to consolidate and gain further traction within the amenities area of ICT, with the aim of becoming the end-to-end ICT solutions partner of choice within the local market.
“Infrasol’s multiple national maintenance contracts will be supported by Datacentrix’ service centre, including a highly agile, always-available service desk, ICT operations and security operations.”
Infrasol has moved into Datacentrix head office in Midrand with representation at the group’s regional offices.
