Top 10 best-selling hatchbacks in South Africa

The champion runaround car in South Africa in 2015 – the king of the road when it comes to fuel-efficiency and versatility – is the VW Polo.

The VW Polo – through its Vivo and regular Polo vehicles sold more than 47,000 units collectively in 2015. The two brands were ranked third and forth overall, behind the Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger, as the best selling vehicles in 2015.

Third in the hatch category was the Toyota Etios, which comes with a caveat in that it also comes in a sedan model.

The fourth and fifth best selling vehicles in the popular category include the Hyundai i20, and Ford Fiesta, the latter launching a new model during last year.

The following 10 vehicles were among the top best sellers in the country, according to statistics published by the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (Naamsa).
