Zuma must get special treatment – don’t question him: Motsoeneng
Former SABC employees who are challenging the broadcaster in court have detailed how the group’s COO, Hlaudi Motsoeneng told staff that president Jacob Zuma was special, and should not be questioned like other leaders.
According to a report by the City Press, the claims were made in an affidavit filed before the Constitutional Court by several suspended journalists.
It is claimed that Motsoeneng said that all other leaders can be questions as journalists see fit, but Zuma should be treated as an exception.
“I am in charge, you must adhere to my instruction,” the defiant COO reportedly told journalists.
“President Zuma is the president of the country – I do not regard him as ANC, you cannot treat him the same. We will give him more time.”
“You can question everyone, except our president. We need to respect him, especially you, SABC,” he reportedly said.
