MTN hit with network issues

MTN is experiencing network problems, which started shortly after 07:00.
Down Detector showed an influx of network downtime reports from MTN subscribers on Thursday morning.
According to users, the downtime is throughout the country – with most reports coming from Gauteng, Cape Town, and Durban.
MTN spokesperson Jacqui O’Sullivan told EWN they undertook an upgrade to parts of their network overnight.
“One part of the upgrade didn’t take effectively. What we have is a data issue specifically in Randburg and Cape Town,” she said.
