Executive salaries: Telkom vs MTN vs Vodacom

Vodacom, MTN and Telkom’s annual reports reveal that MTN group CEO, Sifiso Dabengwa, received the highest total salary in the last financial year when looking at South Africa’s three largest telecommunications companies.

According to MTN’s latest annual report, Dabengwa received a total salary of R22,528,000, edging out former Vodacom CEO, Pieter Uys, and Telkom CEO, Nombulelo Moholi.

MTN CFO Nazir Patel also out-earned his counterparts at Telkom and Vodacom. Patel received a total package of R17,177,000 in 2011, higher than both the CFOs and CEOs at MTN’s main competitors.

When it comes to the chairpersons of these listed companies, MTN Chairman, Cyril Ramaphosa reigned supreme with an annual package of R1,805,000, moving past Telkom chairman, Lazarus Zim and Vodacom chairman, Peter Moyo.
