MTN looks to simplify local operations

 ·8 Sep 2013

MTN says it has commenced the process for the integration of MTN Service Provider (MTN SP) into MTN SA, as part of its strategy to simplify its structure in the South African market.

“When finalised, MTN SP will operate as a division of MTN SA and this will, subject to the conclusion of the legal process MTN is using for the transaction, be effective from 1 November 2013,” the group said in a statement to BusinessTech.

“The integration of MTN SP into MTN SA will be undertaken seamlessly, and represents another major step towards strengthening MTN SA’s ICT strategy, making the customer the focus as we improve our organisational effectiveness,” MTN said.

The operator moved to assure all stakeholders including employees, customers, service providers, suppliers, trade unions, and regulators, that the integration will not have any impact on the business operations.

“The integration of MTN SP will allow for the provision of more holistic offerings as MTN seeks to enable converged communications solutions,” it said.
