Land Rover South Africa has announced that its new and most customisable Range Rover, the Velar, is available to order at dealers across the country.

The New Range Rover Velar will primarily be available in Velar and Velar R-Dynamic variants. Four specification levels are available: base, S, SE and HSE.

All derivatives and trim levels are available with a choice of Ingenium four cylinder and Land Rover’s six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, the motoring group said.

A third Velar variant will also be available: Velar First Edition. This flagship, limited-edition model is only available in a single, high-specification trim that boasts every available option.

The Velar First Edition will only be available during the vehicle’s first year on sale and is available exclusively on order.

The New Range Rover Velar will go on sale in the fourth quarter of 2017.

Pricing for the Range Rover Velar starts at R947,700 for a 2.0 diesel 132kW model, with the 3.0 petrol 280kW HSE priced from R1,324,100.

For the Velar R-Dynamic, the base price for a 2.0 diesel 132kW starts at R980,500, with the 3.0 petrol 280kW priced at R1,356,900.

The Velar First Edition will cost from R1,529,300 for a 3.0 diesel 221kW, while the 3.0 petrol 280kW is priced from R1,539,800.

Customers have full choice when it comes to configuring their Velar, with a total of 17 wheels, 13 exterior paints, and three exterior trim packs are available. Inside, the vehicle can be specified with a choice of 15 material finishes, including premium textile finishes from Danish textile firm Kvadrat, as well as a steering wheel trimmed in suede cloth.

Tech gadgets include slimline matrix-laser LED headlamps outside, and Land Rover’s all-new InControl Touch Pro Duo infotainment system. The SUV also has two 10-inch high-definition touchscreens integrated into the central console.
