South Africa has a new shopping destination, with the Castle Gate Lifestyle Centre opening in Pretoria.

The new 25,000 sqm lifestyle shopping centre opened on Thursday, 30 May, by developers Atterbury Property and Twin City.

Tenants include a 12,000 sqm Kloppers department store, Mr Price Home, Food Lover’s Market, Seattle Coffee, Destinations by Frasers, Postnet, Eskort, PNA, West Pack, Shoprite’s new clothing store Uniq and more.

The mall is located in the hub for Pretoria East at 478 Koedoesnek Ave, Waterkloof Ridge.

Atterbury previously said the property has eco-friendly features, such as a solar farm, rainwater harvesting, green spaces and rustic industrial design.

The Lifestyle Centre is the second phase of the retail segment of the R6 billion Castle Gate mixed-use precinct.

The precinct is expected to expand further into office space and residential units as part of the next phases, along with the requisite upgrades to infrastructure.
