A look at the R55 million game farm on the market in South Africa – with tons of animals
A 6,852-hectare game farm in the Eastern Cape is on the market for R55 million plus VAT.
Pam Golding Properties said that the secured farm blends perfectly into the surrounds of the Eastern Cape Karoo.
It is 30km from the historic town of Cradock and roughly 250km from the Gqeberha airport.
On the farm, there are giraffes, impalas, lechwes, kudus, waterbuck, mountain rhebok, eland, red hartebeest, springboks, wildebeest and zebra roaming around.
The game farm also has a great diversity of birdlife.
Pam Golding said that more than 2,000 head of game, including top-quality trophy animals, are available for hunting enthusiasts.
For non-hunters, the farm can also offer opportunities to develop 4×4 routes, hiking and walking trails, birding, and idyllic game viewing.
The entire property has well-developed road infrastructure and numerous watering points, and it has a CAE-certified perimeter fence.
The climate in this area also varies from chilly winters to warm summer days and has an annual rainfall of roughly 350mm.
The farm also has a diverse topography, from the sometimes snow-capped mountains to the valley thickets, seasonal rivers and open Karoo plains.
A “master-crafted” lodge also offers seven uniquely decorated en-suite bedrooms, each with their outside entrance.
They all blend in with the open-plan, spacious interior, which includes two lounges, a 14-seater dining room, and a kitchen. These all flow onto a large deck with a pool.
There is also a boma, which is excellent for braais.
The accommodation extends to hunter’s cottage with four en-suite bedrooms, open-plan lounge, a dining room, a kitchen and built-in braai.
Walking to the undercover veranda, one can soak up the endless views of the Karoo.
Moreover, the thatched manor home is set within a large parkland garden.
It has an open-plan lounge, dining room, kitchen and second formal lounge.
The home has two en-suite bedrooms, an office, a playroom, laundry and an outside built-in braai.
There is also a cottage with two en-suite bedrooms.
The outbuildings have ample garage parking space, workshop, storerooms, four staff houses and a cold room.
There is also a fully equipped abattoir with a large cold room.
The price includes the game, numerous vehicles, machinery, equipment, and contents of the abattoir, lodge, and hunter’s cottage, but not the contents of the manor house.
