Intersat and BSS form stragetic partnership
Intersat Africa, a satellite communication provider in Africa, and Belgium Satellite Services (BSS) have announced that the companies will be entering a partnership to expand their operations and services in the Middle East and African markets.
Intersat currently offers Internet via satellite connectivity to organisations, government institutions and the private sector throughout the African continent and The Middle East – markets into which BSS, with an established satellite infrastructure in Europe, is looking to expand.
BSS CEO, Nitin Dhawan, describes the partnership as “an important strategic step for BSS,” to expand into new territories.
Intersat co-founder, Abdul Bakhrani, acknowledges the benefits of having BSS’ technical and operational experience to enhance Intersat’s service offering and market position.
The partnership includes a joint sales, marketing and product development organisation that will expand their customer base and offer an enhanced range of satellite services to the territories where fibre connectivity is not as prolific as other regions in the world, and wireless communication is the only option.
The two companies will target and provide their services to SMEs, corporations, telecom operators and ISPs.
