Jasco buys ARC Telecoms
JSE-listed Jasco has acquired ARC Telecoms, a provider of telecoms and IT services to small- and medium-sized enterprises.
ARC Telecoms was launched in September 2010, and focuses on the small and medium business (SMB) sector with a range of converged voice and IP data telecommunications products.
The company currently has 30 employees, with a head office in Johannesburg and a satellite team in Cape Town.
ARC Telecoms was one of the companies which received an investment from World of Avatar, headed up by Alan Knott-Craig Junior. The company’s shareholding was split between the three directors – Steve Briggs, Michele McCann and Paven Chetty – and World of Avatar.
Details about the acquisition remain sketchy, but it is rumoured that current CEO, Steve Briggs will leave the company, and that Chetty will take over as head of ARC Telecoms.
The acquisition of ARC Telecoms will give Jasco a better presence in the small- and medium-sized business sector, with the potential to increase the product offerings to ARC Telecom’s established user-base.
