Mweb CEO sniffs at IS merger rumour

“Mweb is not for sale,” the CEO of Mweb ISP, Derek Hershaw, has told MyBroadband in response to questions about a potential merge between Mweb and Internet Solutions (IS).
“I’m not sure where this is coming from but it’s just ‘market rumour’,” Hershaw said.
According to a recent report, there are talks of a deal between Mweb’s parent company, Naspers, and Dimension Data subsidiary Internet Solutions.
The rumour is that Naspers would retain 20% of Mweb while Dimension Data held the remainder.
Both Dimension Data and Naspers declined to answer questions about possible discussion, saying that it is company policy not to comment on market rumour or speculation in the media.
