Mweb-IS merger rumours surface

Rumour has it that Dimension Data and Naspers are in talks regarding a merger between Mweb and Internet Solutions (IS), according to a report on Techcentral.
Despite denials from executives at Dimension Data and Internet Solutions, the report said that a deal leaving Naspers with 20% of Mweb while Dimension Data held the remaining 80% could be on the cards.
Asked for comment on the report, both Dimension Data and Naspers declined to comment.
“It is the Group’s long-standing policy that we don’t comment on market rumour or speculation about Dimension Data, or any of its affiliates or subsidiaries,” a spokesperson for Dimension Data told MyBroadband.
The sentiment was echoed by a Naspers spokesperson, who said, “It is our company policy not to comment on press speculation.”
