Telkom to reveal content plans
Telkom will enter the content and media market, with an official announcement expected within weeks.
This is according to Telkom COO Brian Armstrong.
Speaking at the 2014 MyBroadband conference, Armstrong said that for them it is not being first to market, but rather “right to market”.
Armstrong would not divulge any further details about the media plan, but said that the company had learned from its mistakes with Telkom Media a few years ago.
“Watch this space, there’s more to come in a few weeks’ time,” Armstrong said.
In recent weeks South Africa saw a few new media players emerge, including Times Media’s Vidi and Altech’s Node product.
