New website for Competition Commission

 ·31 Oct 2014

The Competition Commission is to launch a new website aimed at improving information dissemination, interactivity and to provide a user friendly platform for all stakeholders.

The Competition Commission is a statutory body empowered to investigate, control and evaluate restrictive business practices, abuse of dominant positions and mergers in order to achieve equity and efficiency in the South African economy.

This new platform comes in the context of the Commission’s new 2030 strategy whose focus among others is to build strategic relations and partnerships with our stakeholders.

The new website, as one of the Commission’s information gateway, will provide an overview of the Commission’s activities and an interactive guide on merger filings, and is set to launch on Monday, 03 November 2014,

The website will include a host of user-friendly multi-media sections.

Earlier this week, the Competition Commission recommended that the Competition Tribunal approve MTN’s acquisition of a 51% stake in internet service provider, Afrihost.
