Sanral changing e-toll regulations: report
The SA National Roads Agency Limited (Sanral) is amending regulations to the e-tolls legislation, The Star newspaper reported on Thursday.
The transport department issued a notice in the Gazette which gave the public until December 27 to comment on the changes.
The amendments would ensure that foreign road users — motorists not licensed in South Africa — also had to pay e-tolls, and extended the period Sanral had to send an invoice to motorists, it reported.
At the moment, Sanral had 32 days to send an invoice, but this would be extended to 60 days.
Another proposed change was that Sanral keep a register to record all transactions of motorists who used the roads, including users who were not registered.
